Coordinate Measurement Systems

Tactile, Optical and Dynamic Quality Control for Components and Assemblies

With our extensive range of measurement systems, we can provide all kinds of coordinate measurement services, from measurement reports and initial sample inspections to laser tracker measurements and surface scans. We have been offering 3D measurement services for more than 10 years at all the Bertrandt sites  and also visit customers’ premises to provide on-site contract measurement services. In addition to car manufacturers and automotive industry suppliers, we also help non-automotive customers to develop efficient quality control processes in industries such as medical technology, aviation, shipbuilding, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles and domestic appliances.

(Mobile) measurement services and advice

As a mobile provider of 3D measurement services, we can supply our services all over the world at short notice. Our team of experts can bring all the measurement systems (FARO, GOM) with them for on-site use. We offer support and advice to international customers that do not have their own measurement facilities or are suffering from capacity bottlenecks.

In addition to component measurements, we also take laser tracking measurements on sites where new factories and production lines are being constructed to ensure that all the quality requirements are met, from the foundation plan through to the assembly line and the manufactured components.

High-performance measurement systems for comprehensive services

We also provide our measurement expertise to other associated Bertrandt departments, in particular Testing Solutions (for example for environmental simulations), but also the Design Solutions, Smart Production Solutions and Vehicle and Prototype Services units.

Examples of measurement services:

  • Using tactile measuring devices (for example a portable measuring arm) to measure smaller components, including in the vehicle
  • Comparing existing CAD data with a new production component to create a measurement report
  • Dynamic measurement methods for the vehicle exterior, for example impact tests on the vehicle hood and doors
  • Optical measurement methods using strip projection for components such as seats
  • Using H-point measurements and a head restraint measuring device (HRMD) to measure a variety of seats. The measurements are made on a red H-point manikin (SAE J826) and calibrated in accordance with VDA 304
