Our system consists of three core components: a mobile app, an Android Automotive App, and a backend. The mobile app synchronizes with various systems and sends an optimization request to the backend. The backend calculates the optimal route and provides it to the Android Automotive App, which runs on the vehicle's infotainment system and follows the route. It can also integrate flexible and spontaneous events, such as shopping or refueling, and plans them into the route.

Currently, multi-target navigation is primarily used in the logistics industry without a direct connection to the vehicle. Hence, a planned route must be entered manually and is not dynamically planned, therefore not taking real conditions into account. Bertrandt GUIDE tries to bridge this gap by including both real-time and vehicle data into its route planning by using Android Automotive OS.
