Light and Sight

Qualification of exterior and interior lighting and displays

Inside the interior area, in addition to LEDs and lighting strips (ambient lighting) implementation of large displays is ever increasing, which often span the entire width of the dashboard. However, these components are exposed to high temperature differences, vibrations, water, dust and interference from neighboring electronic components (EMC) which must be tested and qualified accordingly. We ensure your protection in accordance with the LV 124 test standard with our experienced test team using the latest testing equipment available.

Automated test procedures, control and monitoring

As your security partner, we are able to take full control of the lighting components, among other things. Using various automated test systems, all analysis is recorded and made available for further assessments. Some of the systems in use have been developed in-house, such as: CAN, LIN, PWM signals, various physical and optical parameters.

Analysis, diagnosis, consulting

During the validation phase you are able to stay in full contact with our testing engineers. Ensuring fast and efficient process in which all failures and issues are identified early and responded to immediately to reduce delays. In addition to testing, it is our top priority to properly qualify your component(s) according to all applicable standards, thus ensuring successful final maturity level. Likewise we have a proven track record and can fully rely on our own design, calculation and simulation teams across the group as a whole.

Lighting requirements

We perform the type of tests for headlights and rear lights in accordance with ECE standard, including area scans or point measurements that are deemed essential and that must be carried out in parallel to simulations during the development phases. The homogeneity of luminance, color location and color temperature also play a decisive role in determining quality for interior, displays and ambient lighting characteristics.

Electrical Requirements

Influencing factors such as transient undervoltage and overvoltage, short interruptions, short circuits, quiescent current, over currents or voltage drops can affect every component. Using modern, automated test systems, these disruptive factors are simulated by our specialists and the effects are automatically documented.

Environmental simulation requirements

Changing environmental factors, such as high humidity, cold, dust, different reacting agents and mechanical loads (e.g. vibrations of the components) represent a high level of stress, especially for E/E components. Any damage will be assessed and documented by our test team, using equipment such as Shaker Platforms.
