For the mobility of tomorrow, Bertrandt tests all fluid/media-carrying components and systems relating to fluids transfer: whether for plug-in hybrids, electric cars, fuel cell vehicles (hydrogen) or vehicles with internal combustion engines. With the extensive know-how from our specialist team and the available testing resources, we are able to support you not only in the planning phase, but also in the implementation and analysis of your component and total system tests. We are able to implement all security requirements successfully and efficiently.
In our currently fast paced technological advancements of drive concepts, thermal management is becoming increasingly important. The temperature control of things like: aggregates, components and the passenger cells play a major role. Likewise, our team of experts excels in the area of functional validation (such as the ability to fill and properly vent thermal systems). In addition, we also examine hydraulic properties of individual components in regards to all operational conditions including single as well as combined systems.
The basic prerequisite for the proper function of any fluid system is the routing of the fluid medium to where it is needed at all times and in all operating states. In order to ensure that every drop is exactly where is intended and every draft of air reaches its destination, we validate such things as: lines, connectors, valves, pumps and other components of the air, fuel, oil, coolant and refrigerant systems.
As auxiliaries, we cluster mechatronic modules, accessory units and individual components that contribute directly to the functionality of the fluid systems. Including but not limited to components that must be connected to one of the said systems for proper operation. In this way, we ensure the protection of power electronics, axle drives or high-voltage storage systems, among other things.
We measure complete systems and components from various German OEMs and system suppliers with regard to flow, pressure and temperature under various operating conditions. In as early as the development phase, we validate corresponding calculation results, develop function routines and/or identify potential areas for optimization.
With a wide range of services and close networking between departments, we are able to quickly recognize test requirements, cover complete validation tracks of individual components and accompany the development all the way up to series production.
Depending on the application, the structural strength of the components with regard to internal and external factors can be examined using special testing techniques. As an example, tests can be carried out by means of extreme limits during field diving (temperature shock diving) or by internal pressure pulsations including up to destruct.
