Cooperation with Tennental Village Community

Product developed with wood from local forests

, 27. September 2023 – Sustainable action and social responsibility are key components of Bertrandt‘s corporate strategy. This is also underlined by the regional cooperation that the company has now launched with the Tennental Village Community (Dorfgemeinschaft Tennental). Together with the community’s Branch Wood Workshop, Bertrandt has designed a hand-crafted present for its employees to celebrate the birth of a child.

Bertrandt recently began working with the Tennental Village Community. In a joint project with the community’s so-called Branch Wood Workshop, which is part of the facility for people with disabilities in Deckenpfronn (Böblingen region), the engineering partner has created a high-quality box made of wood sourced from local forests. The box will be given as a present to employees to celebrate the birth of a child.

“Sustainable action and social responsibility are two key components of our corporate strategy and both are firmly anchored in our mission statement. Our project with the Tennental Village Community has enabled us to implement our idea of sustainable and regional cooperation with a social institution. At the same time, we are helping to integrate people with disabilities, thus making a valuable contribution to the process of inclusion. We highly value this trusting relationship and are extremely satisfied with the quality of the products,” said Matthias Bienert, Head of Corporate Marketing and Corporate Communications at Bertrandt AG.

The hand-crafted wooden boxes, which are laser-printed with the Bertrandt logo, are currently being supplied to the company by the Village Community every month. They are then filled with sustainable and ecologically certified products and presented to employees. The wooden box is the first joint project between Bertrandt and the Tennental Village Community. There may well be further projects in the future.

The fact that Bertrandt attaches great importance to sustainable action is also shown by its overall corporate goal: by 2030, Bertrandt aims to cut at least 15 percent of its emissions across all greenhouse gases and its target is to be carbon-neutral by 2039 at the latest.

The Tennental Village Community is a place for people with and without disabilities to live and work together. The village, which is located in Deckenpfronn in the Böblingen region, has various different areas. For example, there is a bakery, a cheese dairy, a gardening and carpentry workshop, a metal workshop, and a village craft workshop. The village also has a kindergarten and a doctor’s office. The Village Community’s mission is to create unique living and working opportunities through which people in need of assistance can live a full and active life as part of society.
