German Premiere for Innovation Platform

Bertrandt officially unveils show car developed entirely in-house

Ehningen/Bonn, 10. October 2019 – At ELIV 2019, Bertrandt is unveiling its showcase for autonomous, electrified, and connected driving, which it has developed completely in-house. The HARRI innovation platform demonstrates the company’s technological expertise along the entire value chain of future mobility concepts. With this showcase, Bertrandt is proving its competence in implementing and combining the current trend topics on the market.

The HARRI show car, which is being presented to the German public for the first time at ELIV, demonstrates the technological competence of the Bertrandt Group along the entire value chain of future mobility concepts. In addition to addressing the automotive sector, it also includes solutions for municipal infrastructure, logistics companies, and passenger transportation. HARRI also highlights the combined application of the current mega-trends of digitization, autonomous driving, connectivity, and electric mobility in a vehicle. “With HARRI, we are demonstrating to our customers that we are a highly professional partner with profound technical expertise in all aspects of future mobility concepts. We not only provide individual components in vehicle development, but offer the entire bandwidth. This enables Bertrandt to develop a complete vehicle for its customers entirely by itself, and not only parts of it. What is more, we show that we master the technologies for the hot topics on the market – digitization, autonomous driving, connectivity, and electric mobility – and can apply them in all their combinations,” says Hans-Gerd Claus, Member of the Board, Engineering, at Bertrandt.

The project is evidence of Bertrandt’s competence in the field of software engineering, combining agile development approaches with SPICE applications. The HARRI innovation platform presents an exceptional user experience on the basis of psychological and technical approaches, even going as far as intuitive human-machine communication via a user-friendly interface (HMI). Data processing both inside and outside the vehicle is the basic precondition for successful digitization and connectivity. The showcase demonstrates topics such as a solid backend structure, fast recognition and processing of collected data, and car2x communication.

This innovation platform enables Bertrandt to demonstrate the entire range of its expertise. It underlines its agile and Group-wide method of working and its uniform development process across all levels. Bertrandt has at its disposal an extensive internal network of experts and developers to provide services in all disciplines. Intensive cooperation has already resulted in a number of modular, scalable, and re-usable solutions that can be adapted to future customer projects. One such example is the Bertrandt labeling tool for the automated annotation of sensor data.

HARRI is celebrating its German premiere at ELIV 2019, one of the biggest and most important international congresses for automotive electronics. The world premiere will follow in January 2020 at CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
