The body-in-white – Bertrandt's roots

Whether their job is to develop a saloon with numerous derivatives, a sports car, an SUV, a commercial vehicle or even a special armoured vehicle – our development engineers offer many years of experience in all vehicle classes, from the initial concept to series production. At Bertrandt, Body-in-White includes development projects such as the front and rear end, the driver's cab or ladder frames.

Lightweight and multi-material construction has become an established component of vehicle body engineering. Steel as a construction material is being replaced more and more frequently by lightweight materials such as aluminium, magnesium and fibre-reinforced plastics. Multi-material design consistently demonstrates the material hybridisation of vehicle bodies. From today's perspective, it is the most forward-looking technology for combining lightweight body design and its cost-effective mass production.
