Modern electronic systems are becoming increasingly complex, but also more vulnerable. Defects can have serious consequences that lead to serious injuries or worse and cause high costs for the manufacturer. Functional Safety is a key technology to ensure human safety.

With the help of the guidance of the related Safety Regulation (e.g. ARP 4754A, ISO 26262, IEC 61508) each system or component is assigned to a safety integrity level that determines the requirements for the product and development, which consequently has an impact on the development costs.

Center of Competence for Functional Safety

We have extensive experience and profound competence in safety critical standards. For more than 30 years, Functional Safety in the essential sector of civil and military aviation has been one of our main areas of expertise. Based on this broad expertise, we continued to lead the way when Functional Safety started to be considered as part of the state of the art in terms to standardization for the automotive and railway industry.
