With the Bertrandt Design System, we in the Interface team have created an innovative solution for the design of user interfaces. By using modular components, the system enables the flexible and efficient development of user interfaces. Using a modular approach, we provide reusable elements, such as tiles and buttons, so that designers can quickly and consistently create UIs that meet established design guidelines. This ensures a consistent visual identity across different applications.
For us, developing a new design system means having a clear vision that focuses on the needs and desires of the users. Our experts conduct interviews, analyze the market and competitors and create personas to develop a deep understanding of the target group. All of this results in the foundation of the system – in the form of specific requirements.
We transform these findings into tangible concepts. Initial sketches and wireframes are created in brainstorming sessions and workshops, which represent the basic structure and layout of the interface. Iterations and collaborative feedback rounds are essential in our process. They help to refine our designs and optimize usability.
Once the basic structure has been defined, we start with the fine tuning. Color schemes and typography are defined by us based on the Bertrandt corporate design. Every design element, from buttons to widgets, is carefully designed with industry-specific requirements in mind to provide an intuitive and appealing user experience of our products.
As soon as the visual concept is ready, we can develop digital prototypes. This is where UI design tools come into play, which we use to turn the separate elements into high-quality prototypes. These are crucial because they make it possible to experience our design in action and evaluate it.
Based on UX and usability tests with real users, we can make qualitative and quantitative statements about the fulfillment of requirements. The findings from this form the basis for the subsequent concept loops in which the design system is further optimized.
With the help of iterative concept process, we can gradually shape the design system to meet the previously identified needs and wishes of the target group. At the end of the project, a comprehensive design system is available that has an outlook on the future and can also be used across different sectors.
