1. Part of the change management course according to CMPIC 1-4 (language: German or English)
Configuration Management (CM) is an indispensable component of any product lifecycle management system. This becomes clear when CM is understood as a set of interdisciplinary processes and management methods. These methods must ensure that the relationship between requirements, documents, parts, etc. is always correct, synchronized, authorized and available at all times and that the effects of any changes can be tracked at all times. The course examines all facets of CM, presents the basic principles of CM and explains who in the company is affected by it.
CM basics (CMPIC 1): Overview of CM planning, identification, audits, change management and accounting, and the role of CM in the organization. In this course you will learn the basic principles and the latest approaches of CM and who is affected by CM. You will get an overview of the development of CM. We will show you how CM reduces the cost of corrective actions and why CM is important for consistently high quality.
CM identification (CMPIC 2): Details on the element of configuration management known as identification. You will receive further technical information and proven instructions for creating baselines, structures, naming and numbering. You will learn techniques to prepare and maintain structured information and baselines. This ensures that you know exactly what you are manufacturing, using and/or maintaining at all stages of the lifecycle.
