Configuration Management CM2-01: The Foundation for Operational Excellence

Configuration Management CM2-01: The Foundation for Operational Excellence

This course provides a broad introduction to the CM2-based foundation for Operational Excellence. It is the first course in a series of CM2 certification courses.

Whether a company achieves its goals—and if so, whether it can implement them efficiently—depends heavily on how requirements, datasets, and internal processes are managed.

Companies that do this poorly or ignore it altogether waste a significant portion of resources on rework to correct deficiencies. These efforts include unplanned time, money, and resources needed to compensate for quality issues and schedule delays.

When such problems become routine, rework and corrective actions eventually come to be seen as “normal.” No one considers how to prevent them. To change this, organizations must compare existing processes with best practices, eliminate process deficiencies, and understand the cultural changes required.
