Services provided include the manufacture of tools for prototype sheet metal parts and the production of prototype and small-series sheet metal parts. 1995-96   The production area is increased and a 5-axis milling machine is acquired. 1996-99   The facility invests in more laser equipment. 1998   Bertrandt AG takes a 60% share in ZR in December. The sheet metal specialist ZR numbers virtually all of the German car manufacturers among its clients. 1999   The company celebrates its 10-year jubilee. ZR has around 100 employees. 2000   Purchase of a 5-axis milling machine with a 6m x 3m table. 2001   Bertrandt increases its shareholding to 80%. Core competencies ZR Bertrandt in Bretzfeld in southwest Germany is a trusted partner of the automobile industry and of many sheet metal-working companies. With 100 employees, ZR Bertrandt in Bretzfeld-Schwabbach offers the complete process chain from tool design and manufacture through to the finished sheet metal component, subassembly or raw body shell. The location also produces prototype and small-series parts. In this area, the company can also undertake complex one-off designs and provide services such as metal-drawing simulations, methods planning and complete tool design. Throughput times are kept to a minimum by using the most modern 5-axis CNC milling and laser facilities and presses with capacities up to 1,200 tonnes for making the products.
