Bertrandt was founded in Baden-Wuerttemberg in 1974. Since then the enterprise has developed into one of the leading engineering partners for the mobility industries automotive and aerospace throughout Europe. Bertrandt recognized the trend towards a reinforced shifting of development services to external partners early. Today more than 5,500 employees work on individual solutions along the entire product development value added chain – from the component across complex modules and systems up to complete vehicle derivatives at 28 subsidiaries in Europe and the USA. Great manufacturers as well as numerous system suppliers are among the main customers.
 

The great model and variation variety, shortened developing times, new technologies as well as the assignment of complex project scopes are important growth drivers of the company listed on the stock exchange. Therefore, the service spectrum is continuously extended and unites all requirements for the development of future-directed mobility. To compile complex system developments in the best interest of the customers, special groupwide organized departments link up technological know-how in the areas of powertrain, electronics, supporting services, body-in-white and interior as well as technical calculation and testing. For the aerospace industry Bertrandt’s major activities are structural and cabin development, electronics, prototype development as well as process management.

The basis for lasting company success is a respectable financial structure and qualified employees in the internal network. In the business year 2006/2007 the company generated a turnover of 339.5 Mil. €. The operating result (EBIT) amounted to 32.3 Mil. € and the earnings after income taxes came to 22.2 Mil. €. All together more than 1,000 new vacancies were created and filled in the business year 2006/2007 in Europe.
