Revenues and earnings up in the first half of fiscal 2007/2008
Intact market drivers make further growth possible. “The market for engineering services moved in the direction we anticipated in the first six months of fiscal 2007/2008”, commented CEO Dietmar Bichler. “We generated larger project volumes thanks to our customised range of services ”, Bichler continued. “This enabled us to keep utilisation of the capacity of our operating units at a high level and to continue improving our earnings through specifically targeted cost management”, he added. As a result, the Company’s revenues were up 26.2 percent to EUR 199.9 million in the first half of the current financial year (previous year: EUR 158.4 million), with EBIT surging by 71.4 percent to EUR 22.0 million (previous year EUR 12.9 million). Despite the fact that the impact of the subprime crisis on the global economy is very difficult to forecast at present Bichler still sees good opportunities for the European automotive industry and a correspondingly good business performance by the Bertrandt Group. “The factors driving the market for engineering services are intact”, Bichler affirmed. For instance, the increase in the variety of models in particular as well as technical equipment developed to meet new legal requirements harbour potential for providers of development services that have an understanding of the underlying systems.
