Revenues and earnings up in the first quarter of fiscal 2007/2008
The Bertrandt Group has continued its dynamic performance in fiscal 2007/2008. In the first quarter of fiscal 2007/2008, Bertrandt, an engineering partner and provider of development services to the international automotive and aircraft industry, generated revenues of EUR 96.0 million, an increase of 27.4 percent over the same period one year earlier. At EUR 10.4 million, EBIT was up 78.4 percent year on year. Growth in all areas throughout the entire Group
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the effects of the subprime crisis on the global economy, Bichler believes that the European automotive industry will continue to perform well and, on this basis, also sees future potential for Bertrandt. “Greater model diversity and the use of new technologies will lead to additional spending on development work which external partners can help manufacturers and system suppliers to cope with." Creation of further jobs in Europe Group-wide, Bertrandt employed 5,013 people on 31 December 2007 (4,708 on 30 September 2007). Dietmar Bichler considers their skills and expertise to constitute a major factor in the Company’s success. “With our qualified engineers and technicians, we plan to continue to take advantage of opportunities for growth in the future,” he states. At the moment, Bertrandt has numerous positions available for specialists and those just starting their careers along the entire product-development process chain, details of which can be found at www.bertrandt.com.
